hi

im new to all off this, how do i make my home page for my shop

do i use the index.html filw and add links if so what links do i add im very new to this and trying to learn

any help much appreciated

use the osc home page as the front page for your shop (index.php)

how do i do that i know only the basics in html

i can get a front page up i save it as index.html but i dont know how to use the index.php

install osc in your web space root (ie no catalog directory).

here is what i have

public_html

That should be it, depends on your webhost setup, so if installed correctly, the http://yourdomainname should bring up the osc home page.

 

Don't know about the ext images folder, there should be an images folder.

when i put in my domain name the page that comes up is wahtever i have in the index.html page

is the osc home page the same as the mydomain/admin page

No, admin is the "back end" where you do administration type tasks.

 

mydomain/admin/ should also prompt for login.

 

Demo shop is something like what the shop would look like.

i do get prompted for password at mydomain/admin

so that seems right

but thats because i didnt put anything into the index.html this is the only page i get when i go to my site

should i delete this page in public_html and add a different page or do i add a link in the index.html file

to go to something else

Delete the index.html, the osc home page is index.php which is put there in the install process.
