I added this to my style sheet:

/*backrground image in header */
.tdheader{
background-image:url ('catalog/images/hdr-bg2.jpg');
background-color: #000000;
}

I also tried with the file path '/images/hrd-bg2.jpg' (without the catalog)

and then i called class="tdheader" from pretty much EVERYWHERE I could think of. First i tried it in the TR, so i had <tr class="tdheader"></tr> and when that didnt work, i added it to the table so i did <table class="tdheader" border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" height="175px">.... </table>

WHY is this not working??

I'm really confused, because if i did background-color: #000000; it works just fine.. there is a background color, so now i KNOW that my class is being called in the correct place, but why isnt the image being called. i uploaded it into catalog/images/hdr-bg2.jpg

I'd need the URL to tell more, but one thing I do know the space between url and ( here will kill it:

background-image:url ('catalog/images/hdr-bg2.jpg');

NO SPACE BETWEEN url and (

:blush:

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Well, I saw the bat-light, and ....

B)

Not stupid, just a stylesheet quirk if you ask me.

:)

It should ignore non important whitespaces, but it doesn't... At least not there anyway.

:lol:

Hey Lindsay,

You ever use Firefox to check your stylesheet?

:unsure:

There's a little icon in the upper left that shows up as a red exclamation point if there are errors.

It might be part of the web developers plugin.

Any way, I tried a space between url and ( and it gave me this error:

Error in parsing value for 'background-image. Declaration dropped.
