marsroad Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hello, I'm in the process of having a firm develop an e-comm site for us that will use osC. The web host uses PLESK with PowerPack allowing us to install osC easily, but it is version 2.2ms2 I see that there is a newer version called osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 Release Candidate 2a on the download site. Anytime I see release candidate, I am not sure if it is necessarily ready for production use. Should we proceed with the included 2.2ms2 by our host? Perhaps this is the latest generally available/non-RC version that would be the most proven/stable? Or is it worth going RC 2a NOW vs trying to u/g it later. If it is recommended to go RC 2a now, is there anything I will need to tell my host for it to work (I saw some posts about mysql and php needing to be at certain levels. Here is what they have on my server: mysql 5.0.22-2.2.el5_1.1 php 5.2.5-4.el5.art Good enough if we wanted to install RC 2a? Thanks in advance for any advice...
Guest Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 RC2a is the only available download from this, the official osc site. It is stable and you should have no problems with it.
