jaimeweb Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Hi, My site is not yet up and running as im having a few problems. But i have made purchases myself to test everything is working ok. I have installed Paypal IPN today and for some reason when i buy something the satus in my control panel does not change. I recieve funds and paypal go's through fine. But nothing updates the status. Why is this?

I dont understand why its not changing the order status from Preparing [PayPal IPN] to Processing. It dosnt seem to know they have paid. Also the stock level is not going down...

I clicked save and it gave me a message: You have successfully saved your preferences. Please use the following identity token when setting up Payment Data Transfer on your website. ####################### Where do i put that code on my PayPal IPN installation? Or do i not need it?

jaimeweb Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 Hi im still having this problem. I tried again today....sometimes it works and sometimes it dosent. I do the same thing every time and always click the button saying "complete order and return to site"....anyone help?
satish Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 With Paypal IPN in place even if You are not returning from paypal site(return should be without a click if auto return is switched on which shouldbe) then to You will receive paypal IPN and the IPN code will ahndle and update the order status. As I stated You need to make sure IPN are coming. If You are sure that first step is happening but still update not happening then You will have to analyse as the code has some cheks to filter hacks and on times a value different of .2 can be considered as a bug and no order update will happen. My Paypal web payments are setup as: Auto Return for Website Payments = on Return URL = www.mysite.com/store/checkout_success.php Payment Data Transfer (optional)= on (there is a Identity Token code that paypal gives me, im not sure what to do with this???) Encrypted Website Payments = off PayPal Account Optional = on Contact Telephone Number = off PayPal Express Checkout Settings = no It seems strange ive done a test myself 3 times now and it only worked fine the first time....i didnt change anything either :S. And no, i dont get redirected automatically...it says at the end of paypal sumthing like "click here to complete your order and return"... thanks
