Help! - 1054 - Unknown column 'popt.products_options_track_stock' in 'field list'

OMG please someone help me :(. Ok i am having a problem which im sure many of you have had before. My only way of payment method is through paypal. But for some reason my stock level never go's down. Now i sell clothing and products that have different sizes and colours ect.

 

for example:

T-shirt / avalible in size: S,M,L,XL and colours: black, white, red.

 

Oscommerce does not alow me to make attributes for all of these and still keep track of which are in stock and out of stock. Can someone please point me to the right mod so i can do this.

I have just tried to install a mod i found on the net but it didnt work and i had to go back to the original files...now for some reason i am gettin this message when i add something to my cart or click cart contents.

Can someone tell me where the problem is and what i have done. :(. Also i have just installed the Paypal IPN script which i learnt i had to have for the stock level mod to work correctly. Please help! thank you so much

The error is being caused by an incomplete install of QT Pro (Quanity Tracking Professional). You have to uninstall all of it, not just new files but the amendments to existing files.

Ah ha. I know what may be causing this. I did try to install a script that allows me to keep track of me stock level but i got confussed and messed it up a little and then tried to replace the files i had replaced with their original ones, but somehting went wrong. Becuase if i add a product to the cart with no attributes it works fine. but if i add a product with attributes it comes up with this error on page address: www.mysite.com/store/checkout_shipping.php

So i think its something to do with that. can anyone help me try and get this working again. I have tried replacing the files again with their original ones...but it doesnt seem to work. Also i know ive not removed the script completely becuase when i login to my admin panel, in the Configuration tab there is a new option that says "Prod Info (QTPro)". That only appeard when i tried to install that add on. I dont think that should be there anymore if i had removed it completely!

You should not duplicate posts and then ignore the answers provided in the other forum. You were told to manually undo the changes that you made to existing files.

 

BTW. This was reported as a duplicate post, so I hope it gets removed.

you didnt undo all your changes because you would not be getting that error.

 

You need to open the shopping_cart.php and compare it to an old backup and find where the QT track code was entered.. if you put notes in the fields where you made changes, then you should be just fine removing it..

i have replaced all the files with the old ones. and im still getting this error...although i did need to make new entries in the php admin for the sql...i havnt removed them....would i need to?

you can restore your database to the backup that you SHOULD have made before making any changes to it...

 

OR you can write a query that will undo what the code had you do

 

HOWEVER, it doesnt seem that just because the info is in the database it has to be put on the page.. SOMETHING has to be asking for it from your .php pages

That is an understatement.

The confusion is about the the two sql files. You should run both files config.sql and new_install.sql.

I made the same mistake thinking the new_install.sql file would only be for a new OScommerce installation. (got the same error)

But it's for a new QTPro installation so even if you have modified store you should run both sql files.
