lindsayanng
So i was browsing the net because i am going to be doing someone's wholesale t-shirt website, and i came across this website.. It looks simple enough.. Definitely something that can be done with oscommerce.. HOWEVER.. they have the coolest attribute layout i have ever seen.. I am SURE it can be done with oscommerce, but i just would never know where to start.. Take a look and tell me what you would think about it.. definitely some variation on the Attribute QTY Cool Attributes Layout A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. arietis
i've seen some contributions for attributes displayed as drop-down boxes and even radio buttons. maybe those can give you some ideas.
lindsayanng
i just have not seen them displayed where one is "attached" to the other like that.. I know that i can get that whole idea of choose size and color, but i want the attributes quantity in there too.. which can not be used with radios and drop downs.. I need a matrix very much like that.. with size across the top and color down the side.. or visa versa. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. This sometimes happens when a link is broken or expired or the URL (website address) is incomplete or cut short. You will be automatically redirected to the LogoDogz Printz homepage momentarily. Sorry for the inconvenience. so I suppose that I can't view it because I am not in the usa.

Guest
Yes, it is interesting, but to me it is unappealing.
lindsayanng
maybe for your use, but for someone who sells ONE type of tee shirt in a thousand colors and sizes, why not offer a table like that. ESPECIALLY for a customer who is selling by bunk. I mean, if it was just a few t-shirts at a time peopel were buying, they can add them to their cart and change the quantity.. BUT if they buy 100 small red, 100 medium red, and 100 large red with a special logo on them, this would be REALLY REALLY helpful for MANY shops that do the whole wholesale thing.. more than just t-shirts. Anyone who does printing type things A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. lindsayanng
then how would you sell items that have that many options?? If you have and idea for another way of doing it, i would love to know! A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. Kanie
A far better approach would be the ability to add a colour to an order rather than just throwing them all out onto the page. The first step would be the choose your desired colour, click 'Add to order' and then the quantity boxes for the available sizes appear. You could obviously repeat this for every colour you wanted. Having 10+ colours listed in a table as shown in the screenshot is incredibly unappealing, like Leslie said. Step 2 and 3 are fine. A recent client of mine had a similar problem of how to display his abundance of attribute choices in a nice, neat fashion and I came up with a similar 'step' solution that he was really happy with. When a customer decides which pair of glasses he/she wants from the product info page instead of an 'Add to basket' link he/she is prompted with a 'Select lenses and options' link. This takes them to a completely new page I created for the osCommerce solution that provides the customer with an array of options and choices to customise his/her glasses. Screenshots are below.. http://www.muvumedia.com/misc/options1.jpg http://www.muvumedia.com/misc/options2.jpg http://www.muvumedia.com/misc/options3.jpg Each option is in a collapsible box that the customer can expand and collapse as he/she desires. When collapsed the current choice and price is displayed in the box heading to remind the customer of his/her choices. The total price is automatically updated as the customer changes his/her selections. Additionally, some restrictions are placed on the customers selections as some selections are simply not allowed to be combined.

lindsayanng
here;s the thing though, if there are 28 colors.. are you going to have 28 colors listed as radio buttons, and then have S, M, L with QTY boxes? that seems as cumbersome as a grid to me.. AND what if they want Blue, Red, and Black.. they have to choose the BLACK radio button, then their size quantity, add to cart, and then go back and those their Red and size quantity and add to cart and go back for the Blue.. THAT makes it hard for people to purchase multiples in different colors. And with a wholesale outfit, it is very possible people will be doing so. I will break it down again.. User comes to the product page where they are faced with the 3 steps. In the first drop they are given a drop-down list of all available colours. They select their colour, click 'Add to order' and the quantity row/grid for that colour appears below the drop-down. You can repeat this for as many colours as you like. Using the newly formed rows/grids they add a quantity to each size for each colour. They complete step 2 and 3 as in the example. Click 'Add to cart'. It basically limits the grid to only the colour choices the customer wants rather than throwing all of them out at once, making it a far nicer user experience.
