matchattaxoutlet Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Hi All, PayPal works ok on my site, however every now and again an order is placed which does not deduct the products ordered from the stock level. I remember someone mentioning that within PayPal if you disable PayPal account optional this cures it. However, I still would like people who do not have a PayPal account to be able to place an order. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Match Attax Outlet The Premier Football Card Store
jhande Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Hey Martin, I am not sure which version of osC or which PayPal module you are using. I would recommend updating your PayPal module to PayPal IPN Module v2.3.3 for 2.2 MS2 by AlexStudio 16 Nov 2007 - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
Guest Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 I occasionally see the same issue as the original poster in this thread. The order is 'completed'...so to speak...you get the PayPal payment email but...no order confirmation email from your site. I assume the buyer gets no order confirmation, either. The order is logged as 'processing' yet the items remain in stock. Just my guess, but I think if the customer clicks out of PP before returning to the Checkout Success screen...you get the money but no stock is subtracted. I dunno. It happens. I imagine their shopping cart still holds those same items, as well. Jim: My question is this...how do you stop PayPal purchases from 'turning off' your items after a purchase? If I only have 1 in stock....and they complete checkout fully....the item gets turned off from view when stock is subtracted from 1 to zero. Does this version of the PP IPN you're offering fix that? I only list 1 of anything in stock. Best way for me to keep control of inventory, and most of what I sell there really is only 1 available anyways. It's a pain, though, having to go in and turn items back on everytime I get an order. I use the Display Out of Stock mod, where everything listed in my site is available for viewing...but removes the Add to Cart button for items that are out of stock. I think I'm using PP IPN version 1.1. But, don't hold me to it. - Andrea
