oscjeff
I used to have my items displaying in a nice list but, after adding a theme contribution, it down displays the product in 3 columns with their image. How do I go back to the list view? Thanks in advance!
lindsayanng
it depends on which contribution you installed.. if you installed the product listing enhancements from sppoks, it can be done in the admin be setting the default to LIST VIEW.. if you installed a different one, you will likely have to uninstall it.. I suggest Spook's contribution even if you wanted the list view. His contribution allows your customers to choose list of grid, but you choose the default view. You also can allow the customer to choose how many products to show per page, which LOTS of people love.. and how to sort them (price low to high/high to low, alphabetical, and reverse alphabetical) its a really nice contribution, even if you dont want it for the grid look. Thanks. You have been so helpful for me for previous problems/posts! I'll look around. I'll have to figure out what contribution I used orginally to do the product list view. lindsayanng
yea.. In the future, keep a notebook and write notes of every contribution you used, and which files it altered.. I actually keep two files, one for used contributions and one for wanted contributions, and i keep everyhing in there on a USB drive so i always have the original code, AND i can use them to compare with other files.. if i do my own changes (which is rare) i write down everything i did.. Its good practice for situations like this A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. oscjeff
Great idea. Seems you have to be VERY religious about backing up and keeping track of your steps. It ended up that all I had to do was copy my backed up 'product_listings.php' file before I did the theme contribution back in after the theme changed it. All good! Here's my store: http://esubmeter.com/store Thanks SO MUCH for your help.
