After viewing some of the other stores in this section I feel like I need to go back to the drawing board before posting this.

Currently my store has a clean look. I need to do some work on my order form and I also need to make is more visually appealing to women.

you need to have the powered by oscommerce text in your footer to get any feedback

How do I add that ? I'm very new to OSC

If you need to learn how to do that, then you need to learn a lot of things.. I am also going to assume that you used a template to get your site to look the way it does, right? That means that a lot of people will not be able to help you do anything on there because it is either old code, or a completely different file structure.

TO add text in the footer, go to catalog/includes/footer.php create a new <td></td> and put your text inside.. thats the simple way to do ti.

Yes, I do need to learn a lot of things when it comes to OSC. Actually, someone did it for me and Yes they used a template as well. I want feedback on the look and what I can do to make it more inviting to visitors. Right now it doesn't grab my attention, so I'm sure visitors find it very dull as well. Oh, I put OSC in my footer. FEEDBACK PLEASE ;)

i hope you didnt pay someone too much money to install a template!

Anyways, you need a larger banner across the top. The FIRST thing that should pop out is your company name and logo.. THEN the links and shopping cart and such. the little text links at the very top can be moved to the footer to make room for the new banner

the layout of your product info page could be better. You should have a better multiple image contribution where you can open one image and click NEXT to see all of them without having to open and close windows.

My suggestion is to install a FRESH install of oscommerce and start from scratch.. especially if you decide you want to do this on your own. My editing a tempalte, you are going tohave more headaches if you start from scratch..also, by adding a fresh install, you will have the most up to date version of oscommerce.. templates can be VER Y VERY old and have lots of glitches when you try to change anything

I don't critique "content", just "technical aspects".

You have a SSL certificate but none of the links where confidential info is required (create account and login for example) are using SSL.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

The site appears to be "bare" than "clean".

I think your store looks ok to me. Mind you the colors arn't that appealing to me but I'd deffinitely buy something from your shop if that is what I was after mate. Also get rid of the powered by oscommerce in your footer. Nobody needs to know what code is powering your site. it's like leaving a key under your door mat.

Thanks, What can be done to fix this? As I did not install the SSL, what info should I pass along to the developer?

Tell him/her to code it to use SSL if available.

If they don't understand or know how it's time for a new developer.

I'm not trying to be rude, crude, or obnoxious here, honestly.

If you've hired a developer they should know what they're doing or you've sold yourself short.

If someone has to tell them how to do this simple thing, who knows what else they don't know how to do?

You should get your moneys worth.
