chewybar09 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I've been using Magento ver. 0.8.17240, and it's done nothing but cause me incredible amounts of trouble. Any and every error there is, has come up for me. I want to port to OSC, is there an easy way to do this? A script? Anything? I know there are porters to Magento, was wondering if it went the other way around. Thanks,

Thanks, No there isn't at the moment but it is nice to see traffic coming from that direction, I'm surprised there hasn't been more. Like the rest of Magento the database is "FAT" 195 tables, it would take quite a time to work out a converter. oscommerceuser5 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Now no disrespect to OSC but atleast 2.2 is a mess. Magneto was made using the zend framework and is much more easy to modify, that is crazy you are going from magneto to osc. again no disrespect to OSC but from a programming perspective I think magneto is 100x easier. I have the biggest troubles trying to fix OSC simplest things

I have the biggest troubles trying to fix OSC simplest things no disrespect taken. i feel you clearly haven't used magento long enough to feel its wrath. magento's done thing to us like not even logged orders, well get in an order ill get the info from my payment processor but magento doesn't have the information stored, its just not there. its resource heavy, any major traffic to the site and its going to bring down your server unless your server is loaded with ram and everything else. and recently, its just been reverting our sales for no reason. well put items on sale then randomly they are not on sale again. its a POS. my 2c.
