Attributes issue when changing things

Ok, there was a big debocle not that long ago. I spent HOURS inputting products and attributes, and then my husband decided that he wanted the attributes to say PRINT SIZE 4 x 6 and PRINT SIZE 5 x 7 instead of 4 x 6 and 5 x 7

 

So he went in to the attributes manager area and just changed the option value. You would THINK that doing so would just update all products that had that attribute. Well, it didnt. Doing that actually made us LOOSE a bunch of attributes, but it didnt make sense, because some products lost all of them, some lost none, and the ones they lost didnt make sense either..some lost completely unrelated attributes!

 

The whole thing was really odd..

 

So here is my question.. I am using attributes sets and ajax attributes manager. I also have super downloads store, but that didnt seem to be affected or the cause. I NEED to change some prices of the attributes.. Do you think that changing the price of an attribute will have the same effect?? Is this something that happens to everyone? Or is that some glitch in MY code because of my contributions i installed??

 

The weirdest thing is that to fix it, all i had to do was click EDIT on every product and then just click UPDATE, because all the products still had the attributes listed in their product edit area..

 

ANY suggestions?? Is updating the prices on all going to be equally as difficult?

When will the divorce be final, and if a divorce isn't pending, when is he scheduled to get out of the hospital?

haha.. he is recovering nicely.. no hospital trip.. not saying it wasnt required.. but i refused to drive him.

That's a known bug. I reported similar about 5 years ago.

 

Use you database backup to get to where you were, then use phpmyadmin to change the name of the options.

All ok. I havent ever done a manual change in the database, but i am sure i could figure it out.. Glad to know it wasnt something that i did when installing contributions..

 

Mind telling me what the name of the table is that has the attributes price?
