arames Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Hi there, what is the difference between CSS Menu and DHTML Menu? Since I wanted to replace the OLD Category Menu with a CSS or DHTML but was NOT sure which one is better and which one has or has NOT compatibility issues. Also do any of you recommend or NOT using these sort of Menu for the Category listing to have your shop look easier to navigate? Does Oscommerce site use CSS Menu in the Op of their pages? Thank you in advance for your help? Regards, Arames T.
Jack_mcs Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 The DHTML menu is completely javascript. This used to be a big problem for the search engines and still is to some extent, though they are working on that. From the customers viewpoint, there's no difference, other than in how they function. ktshannon Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I would recommend css menu. Better for SEO and easier to navigate.

spax Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I would go for the CSS menu every time. There are plenty of people like me who have JavaScript disabled as default. Infact, I don't know why anyone would visit a new site with JS enabled.
