osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Has anyone ever seen - a rental store implementation?

I run a rental business as well as doing PC tech work. I was wondering if anyone had ever done an implementation of a OSCommerce store that was actually not selling things but renting them out and scheduling dates and times. Still collect customer info, just add something to every sale that would allow for collecting reservations specific stuff.

thanks

Paul

You can do a rental site, but as for scheduling and such, you will want to use a calender type of thing for the scheduling.. oscommerce is AWESOME for doing online sales, but it is not the only software you need to run ANY type of company.. Personally, i like quickbooks. I use it all the time, and there is actually a contribution that lets you import ALL of your sales directly into OSC

A great place for newbies to start

DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. You will get better help if you post publicly. I am not as good at this as you think anyways!

HOWEVER, you can visit my blog (go to my profile to see it) and post a question there, i will find time to get back and answer you

There would be a lot of modifying to make osCommerce do what you want it to.

Quickbooks has a good UI but the code infrastructure is horrible.
