remove categories from discount

Hi one and all,

 

I need the option to omit certain categories form being discounted. I'm using lev_discountv2.4 currently to give me variable discounts based on total order spend but this is being worked on over all products groups and i need to remove a numer of them from this.

 

Now the module ot_fx_percent_discount gives me the ability to remove categories, so in that sense is spot on, but the discount isn't variable and it's awarded based on number of items rather than order spend.

 

Any bright sparks fancy integrating the 2??
