General payment info needed

Hi All,

 

I've been doing some reading here about various payment modules/methods and the new PCI compliance standards for using credit card info.

 

I've got a client who already has a merchant account. I've read here that some merchant services providers can integrate with payment gateways. I want to know if anyone has set up a store for someone and was able to use their already existing merchant account with one of the payment gateways.

 

If so, can you let me know which gateway? Barring that, what's the best solution? My client does NOT want to use PayPal and doesn't want to pay an additional service fee for a second merchant account (if required by the payment gateway).
