Silvergren Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Can someone help. I tried adding the tax exempt to my site. Before doing so, I backed-up the entire site, and mysql. I also tried adding the shipping methods 4.3.0. Neither contribs worked (I did each one separately), and would put back all the old files each time, and restore the saved mysql. I tested the site by placing orders afterwards to make sure my site was working. I had no problems with either paypal and choosing to pay by check. This was all restored after each try, the last 9-25-2008 Today a customer tries to place an order and is getting a 500 internal error. I've placed orders and I'm getting the internal error on paypal after I finish paying for the order and it redirects back to my www.mysite.com/catalog/checkout_process.php , it is also giving the 500 internal server error when i choose to pay by check and hit the confirmation button.. the same url as above shows up with the 500 internal server error. I tried to create a new account and am getting the 500 internal server error after I input the information and click the button to continue. The url shows www.mysite/catalog/create_account.php - although the created account does show up in Admin... This afternoon I downloaded my site and used winmerge to compare it to a previous back up that I know was working... I compared it to the site download made before the contribs, and also compared it to another one backed-up in Jan 2008 that I know was working fine. I've also tried the repair database, and optimize database... Please if anyone could help I would sincerely appreciate it... I'm starting to pull my hair out - I'm completely stumped.
Silvergren Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 Maybe a job for your web host. My hosting company said there haven't been changes on the server... The only thing they show on the server is my restoring the database mysql. What other things could this be, and/if the hosting company did make changes, what would it be so I can explain it to them...

Thank you all for you kind help, I really do appreciate it. As to a new hosting company, what is your suggestion... I'm stuck with this one until 2009, as I paid in advance for service and ssl.
