Version and fill-in text box?

Hi.

 

A couple of questions: How can I tell what version of OsCommerce I have? I think I've had it since 2003. I suspect I don't have the latest version. Is it possible to upgrade without losing all of my data? Or does it upgrade and wipe everything out?

 

Also, the thing I have never been able to solve is to get a text box in the attributes that people can write directly onto. The best I can do is have the drop down menu box of options. I need for people to be able to type in their names and such, but don't know what code to put in to do that and don't know where to put the code in, even if I knew the code.

 

Is that feature already available in the upgrade?

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try Server info under tool in the admin area.

 

THere is a contribution to allow text to be added when a product is purchased, so it is not integral to stock osc. There is a delivery instruction box per order though.
