I am having a small issue with this contribution:

Attribute QTY product Info

 

The contribution LOOKS great on my product info page and does pretty much EXACTLY what i would like it to do, however the pricing totals are not working. I was HOPING for some help/

 

You are welcome to test it out, you can use COD as the payment method, i will just delete the orders.. But its not coming through correctly on the price. THe shopping cart does not show the actual total because the product is priced at $0.00 and the attributes are the price that is SUPPOSED to show.. But its not showing that way. Also, in the admin section, when i look at the order, it shows that the product was purchased 5 times but it doesnt say which attribute they chose

 

For instance, it will show

So i KNOW they purchased the 5 different versions of that one product, but i dont know which ones go to which quantities.

i have to say, i am HOPING that jack come by and gives me some info, but if ANYONE has an idea as to why this is happening, i would GREATLY appreciate it.

I just tried it here on my installation and it worked correctly. I set the products price to $0 and the total cost ended up being the price of the attributes. If you have some other attribute contribution installed, like actual price, then that might be cauing the problem.

no. I have very few contributions installed on that website. Did you make a test purchase on my site? The shopping cart always shows $0.00!!

 

I was not able to upload the files that came with it because there was a register globals issue in the application_top.php so i did it manually..

No, there was no reason to place an order since it fails before then. When the quantity is changed in the box and Add to Cart is clicked, your shopping cart should have the price times the quantity for that item. But when I try it on your shop, the item in the cart has $0 for the amount. So the probem is most likely in the application_top.php file, although it could be in the shop_cart files. But it is definately before the checkout pages.

well, i didnt change ANYTHING in the shop_cart.php file at ALL ever.. so do you think there is something in your manual code that caused this? or i inadvertantly overwote something??

I can't say. I just know that it works for me here. Perhaps it is a php/mysql version problem? The best way to go is to create a clean shop and install it there. If it works, then you can use that to compare your code to find the problem.

I didn't look at the code. I don't know it by heart so I would have to create a file from it and compare it, which is more support than I provide here.

 

You can change to $_POST. I doubt it will fix the problem but it won't cause any either.

hey Jack, do you know why uploading the full application_top.php file form your contribution causes the need for register globals to be turned on? is it old code??

I haven't looked at the code in a while. It wasn't mikne to begin with. I just fixed the non-working contribution. Changing all instances of $HTTP_POST to $_POST might fix that.

No, $HTTP_GET should be replaced with $_GET.

well, i did find a quick different in the application_top.php files between the old one form the contribution and the one that i have

I tried to replace the code from the contribution application_top.php with this code that i took from MY application_top.php

The aplication_top files of MS2, which is what the contribution uses, and RC2 are not compatible. You can't just replace it or, as you found, it will break your shop.

right. so i did a comparisson and TRIED to make it right, which was just one error after another so i gave up on that..

 

SO i have NO IDEA where to go now, because i uploaded a PLAIN JANE stock application_top.php file to my website, then added the manual code to it and STILL having the issue..

Were you ever able to get this figured out? I believe I'm having the same issue -- but it's more that the attribute cost isn't adding to the base price. I'm assuming it's a simple script error, but am not sure where to look.

th fix is to upload the most recent contribution.. the issue was that the first one did not work wit the newest version of OSCOMMERCE>. the person who helped me with the attributes QTY uploaded the most recent package that SHOULD work..
