jobywankanobi Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I'm sure I"m looking right past this so bare with me- We sell tshirts- but I can't for the life of me figure out how to allow people to pick sizes! Is it a plug in? Is it an option I'm completely overlooking in my admin and product attributes area? I just want someone to be able to choose XL, L, M when they purchase a shirt. Please help!
♥joli1811 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 HI Go to your admin click on catalog on the left hand side just below catalog/products you will see products attributes click here their should be some example attributes just add size in the product options field then below in Products Attributes add M:XL:XXL etc simple really then choose the product name from the drop drop box and add the size attributes probably 4 - 5 for each T Shirt when you now go to catalog you should see a dropdown box with the size options To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.

mikeyswede Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 OK - I have a similar problem Yes I do understand how to but I wonder if there is an easier way. I have 40 or so dif prints for T-shirts Each print/product is availible in 3-7 dif colors and 3-7 dif sizes Do I have to put in up to 14 dif attributes to each product?
♥geoffreywalton Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Attributes are put in once but then added to each product. A long and tedious process. Most people add the attributes and set up one product. Then install the contribution Easy Populate and download a product/catalog file. This contains details about the product and attributes each one has. Edit this file to add new products by adding them to the file and then upload the file. All will become clearer if you take the time to read the EP documentation. Guest Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I use the attribute sets (link above) for multiples and it works like a charm!
lisajc Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm new at this so... sorry! I am trying to set up tshirt sizes too. I have gone to "product attributes" and have set up sizes/colors with the specific tshirt. But then when I go back to "products" /apparel/edit product, I still don't have any options to put in these extra attributes. Tried to include a screen shot, but this form wouldn't let me upload any images either. Nor when I try to add a new product. I have to run and get in the shower; can email them later or add a link... but if anyone has any ideas in the mean time?? Also, does anyone know someone who would do my coding/store for a financially struggling nonprofit for a decent price? I'm having hand sugery next week, so am wondering if this is going to get done-- but since I'm moving all my inventory to a warehouse and shipping company, I thought this would be the best time to have the new storefront too? lindsayanng Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 you dont set the attributes for th eproduct in the product create page (i know, a little weird) you go to the page where you created the attributions, and the table at the bottom is where you set up each product. You just choose the product name, then the attribute that you want, and then it will be there when you look at it. There is an easier way to do it though. the link above is for attributes sets contribution> this will let you create a set of attributes that you would use a lot (like shirt sizes) and then you can put those in where you create or edit the new product because the contribution allows you to "choose attributes sets" from thta page. ITS A LOT EASIER> A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. lisajc Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Thank you!! It works (despite not making sense...) mikeyswede Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Ended up using AJAX attribute manager and Product Attributes Sort Order. Worked out perfect but now having a problem with the attribut manager can´t delete and go to other pages.... Will check out Attributes Set Plus though
samirvzw Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Hi, I have a question. Is there a way to add all product size to one product at one time. For example: I have a site that sells flip flops, each product has sizes 8-13, is there a way for me to add it once rather than doing it each time for each size? thanks in advance
dgitts Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 oooh, I wish I had seen the EP contribution on sunday night when I spent two hours putting in color/size attributes on 20 items  {left me dazed-ish} haha 'work smart, don't work hard' - i smuck my head like could've had a v8 ad :P
