Guest Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Ok, I have posted this in the past but received little response to this possible bug in this version. I have completed 4 new sites with OSCommerce 2.2 RC2a and have the same problem on all sites. The scenario is this: - The customer shops, and adds items to their cart. - The customer clicks 'checkout' and 'continues' the order. (This is where the customer order is confirmed) - The customer clicks 'confirm' and is taken to PayPal's site but does not pay, only returns to the customers website by hitting the back button or clicks 'return to merchant website' on the PayPal site. The problem is, that OSC says the order is complete even before the customer is sent to PayPal for payment. The inventory is reduced to reflect the sale and the order status is set to processing. Has anyone else com across this and is there a fix for this ? Chris

Guest Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Great idea Nick, However when I set up my customers websites I generally don't have access to the customers PayPal account so I use PayPal Standard and just enter their email address so they can accept payments. IPN would require access to the customers accounts. Any other suggestions to kill this bug ? Chris

Chris IPN does not require you to access the clients paypal accounts...it can be set up just as easy just using the paypal address. (all the cert info etc... is optional and do not need to be filled out) Basics for osC 2.2 Design - Basics for Design V2.3+ - Seo & Sef Url's - Meta Tags for Your osC Shop - Steps to prevent Fraud... - MS3 and Team News... - SEO, Meta Tags, SEF Urls and osCommerce - Commercial Support Inquiries - OSC 2.3+ How To To see what more i can do for you check out my profile [click here]
Guest Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks Nick, I will look into it. I thought IPN required changes to the customers PayPal account. Thanks again. Chris
