please help, need to add 1300 products at once!

can anyone recommend the best way to add 1300 products to a new oscommerce store? basically duplicating my friend's store into my own. he sent me a cvs file of all his products. whats the fastest and easiest way to do this? thanks

Install Easy Populate.

 

Then read the documentation included with it.

I installed it yesterday and had problems uploading the csv file using easy populate in admin. It was giving me an error. Any ideas?

I think you might need to split your 1300 items into smaller groups before you use Easypopulate to avoid your remote server getting stressed out and giving a timeout error...

This is the error i received upon uploading a test .csv file (only 10 products of the 1300). Book1.csv being the file name...

Did you set the permissions as specified in the installation instructions?

 

If you have problems it is best to post as described in the documentation, then the real experts are alerted.

I believe I did everything correctly. If any one has any experience in installing this to their site or other sites, can some one lend me a hand and try to give it a shot on my server for me?
