Hello

Ok, I had a site with oscommerce and i needed to make a new design, so i made it.

Then i upload the catalog and it wants me to do a new install.

So i did the install with the same old database info, so i can have all my products and customers and the such, but when i completed the install it erased all my old stuff and replaced it with template stuff(junk).

Luckily i backedup database beforehand. But when i go to import it, it tells me: accses denied " database "databse _name" already exsist.?

What do i do to get my old stuff back.??

Help

Thanks

So i deleted the database so i can re-import it.

I go to another database and click import and import my old database it says that it was successful but my database didnt come up.

It only shows my other databases?\

I thought when you import it imports the database?

WHAT DID I DO?????????????

I dont know what to do now?

If you are using phpMyAdmin to import your backup into a blank database then it will only import a backup of a certain size.

It normally says 2 Mbs, but will also usually time-out if the backup it is trying to import is much larger than 800 Kbs to 1 Mb.

If your database is larger than that then you have two options:

1. Learn how to use SSH to run the backup into the database (if your hosting company provides SSH).

2. Cut the database up into separate files, each file no larger than 800 Kbs - and Import them one at a time in their correct order.
