Guest Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Add a 2nd product by product attribute Hi!! My english not is so good but I'll try ;) There's a way to add automatically a 2nd product on the cart based on the product attributes? Lemme explain: - I'll work with eye contact lens; - Some people needs different degrees of lens, so will choose one for each eye. I "just" need this: choosing 2 different degrees (its correct this word for lens?), the quantity of the product on the cart will be automatically "2 boxes of lens, one of each degree". It is possible? Thanks in advance. Edu

lindsayanng Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 So you are selling PAIRS of lenses, but since many people have a different perscription for each lense, you need them to specifify which prescriptions they need for both? That would be easy to do if you added the ATTRIBUTES TYPE contribution (search it at addons.oscommerce.com) you can use checkboxes for them OR you can use the ATTRIBUTE QTY contribution which i have found REALLY nice looking and useful. It basically makes a list of attributes under one product so it would look like this: Blue Colored Contact Lense Prescriptions 2.00 [ ] 2.50 [ ] 3.00 [ ] 3.50 [ ] 4.00 [ ] 4.50 [ ] The customer would then just put the quanitty of lenses in that prescripion into the box on the right. This is SIMILAR but not the same as the 800contacts.com set up.. they have a left eye and right eye option.. i dont know if it matters though because i switch mine all the time because my prescriptions are the same Hope this helps A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. Yup! That would be easy to do if you added the ATTRIBUTES TYPE contribution (search it at addons.oscommerce.com) I'll look for. they have a left eye and right eye option And here is my question. What I'm trying to do is when they have a different left and right eye prescription, the system add a 2nd box of lenses, one box for each eye prescription. And Lindsay, thanks A LOT for the attention  []'s Eduardo
lindsayanng Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 you're last statement is not making too much sense to me.. Can you clarify a little.. explain it to me as if i was walking through the purchasing process.. I am a contact wearer, so i understand most of what you are trying to say.. I also had two different prescriptions for each eye for a long time A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP.
