Remove Attribute Parenthesis

Is there a way to remove the parenthesis from the product attributes drop down menu? Also, is there a way to specify the color of the price difference so it is highlighted in a color or bolded? I have been trying several files with no success.

Anyone have an idea as to how to specify the color of the price difference so it is highlighted in a color or bolded in the drop down menu of product attributes in the product info page (not all the text, just the price difference)? I'm pretty sure it is the following line of code.
