Quickbooks merchant account and event registration questions

Hello:

 

I'm currently investigating ways to set up event registration on a client website that integrates into a Quickbooks merchant account. osCommerce is available through my clients' host provider and I'm hoping to be able to both adapt osCommerce for event registrations and to be able to process credit card payments through my clients Quickbooks merchant account. Any input would be appreciated as to whether anyone has done either or if it's even possible.
