Removing phone if affiliate

I have a phone number prominently displayed on my site, it is displayed on sts templates of which I have a couple dependent on the page.

 

I would like the ability to be able to remove this image / text if the source of the visitor was from an affiliate link.

 

I would have a parameter passed something like

 

source="affiliate" so it should be easy enough to detect but how would I go about coding this.

 

I am currently trying to implement this but thought someone here might be able to speed things up for me, anyone else done something similar ?
