jerrygarciuh Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hello, I am upgrading a very old (2003) install of OSC. I am new to this job, the installer is long gone and the 2003 install just got hacked. I copied the database to a new one, uploaded the files and ran the web installer and it wiped my product and customer data in the new database!! Why do the instructions say to copy it over if it just gets wiped? Anyway, the upgrade instructions here: http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/I...nd_Upgrades/221 say to find the file ms1_to_ms2.php in extras/pr21_to_pr22 in the distro zip but I only have the extras folder and no php in it. Help me out guys, I assume there are some tables I can copy over again and others that would screw this up. Can anyone advise how I get my data into the new store? Also, do I need to move layout fies fromthe old store to the new to get my look and feel back? If so, where is the list of files I need to move? TIA!!! JG
jerrygarciuh Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 OK, So I re-read http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/225 and wiped everything and tried again and now I see that the upgrade option is not being offered to me probably due to how old the other install is. Someone please advise re data and files which I should move to new install; I need to get this new store running before the hackers have another go. Thx JG
