Do I need SSL to get UPS module 1.3.4 to work

I have installed a fresh copy of OCS. Installed only one module UPSXML 1.3.4 Have ups accout with key. entered all details correctly. I get these email errors:

have cURL active. Currently this is a test store.

 

Error from cURL: Error [60]: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details:

error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed experienced by customer with id 2 on 2008-08-27 16:55:06

and

 

UPSXML Rates Error: : experienced by customer with id 2 on 2008-08-27 16:55:06

 

Do I need A ssl Cert to get this module to work?

Having a cold at the moment I guess.

 

A. The readme.txt contains the support thread.

B. UPSXML is a shipping module, we have a forum for shipping modules.

C. Searching the thread for that error would surely have delivered the target.

D. Reading the readme.txt (step 12) would have given a clue about comments in the code about error 60.
