Newbie help

I'm new, and an old time HTML not a css amateur even- let alone this!

 

I installed.

 

I went through it all as explained in the install docs.

 

My problem(s) are:

 

My logo will not appear.

 

I have edit the "Let's see what we have here" crap out, and it was gone- then reappeared on a page reload/refresh.

 

 

Clicking on a menu item shows a:

 

 

Error!

 

Unable to determine the page link!

 

on the left bottom screen.

 

My items show up featured in a bottom table on front page- but clicking on the menu gives that error without loading the items.

 

To create my web copy for my store- is the only .php to edit and do this in is the catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php???

Leave all other index.php's alone?

 

I am concerned as to why I get that error about the links to my products- and the changes not sticking.

 

I am ready to throw in my hat!

I'd be worried too!!

 

Go back to a fresh install.

 

Read the first few post of the first 2 threads in the installation forum and find and read the knowledgebase on this site.

 

Then change one thing at a time and test the results before moving on to the next one.

Thank Geoffrey- at this point that sounds like the solution.
