lindsayanng Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I aksed the same question. the person who closed it clarified and said that it opened the forum up to spammers because i was talking about specific web hosts and that other hosts could spam that thread withtheir own hosting. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. Bushmaster Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 linking to external sites providing osCommerce related products So we can't post links to any site that has PHP,HTML,CSS,JAVA, code because it is a related product of osCommerce.
♥Vger Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Basically you cannot post links to osCommerce hosting, coding and design websites because various companies pay big bucks each year to become "Corporate Sponsors" of osCommerce, and providing links to other sites which provide the same sort of services is giving them advertising for free. I personally would love to advertise my own business for free! But then - who wouldn't? Vger
lindsayanng Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 i understand them not wanting you to post links to stuff like that - but i never linked to ANYTHING, and just ranted about how much i hated my experience. it was GOD AWFUL. Would that post have been better placed if i left out the name of the host that was driving me crazy?? would it not have been pulled?? I dont know. The whole thing confused me./ \ I do feel better for having my rant though. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP.
