diy Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I first will start with something peculiar (my dear Watson), I mean something strange!! in my database I see some product notifications but I dont have a notifications box or a check box for notifications when you order a product !!!!!!!!!!!! Some of the customers have purchased the product they are notified about but I have put alot of test orders and I dont see any notifications for my account. How did they manage to put in a notification???? In another site I use for testing I have a notification after the order but I change price and stock and I dont receive an email!!! How do product notifications work?? PS and what is Global Product Notifications.????
diy Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 I tested now the whole thing and my guess is that notifications are not automatic, as many people including me think. You have to issue a "newsletter" with product notifications and if somebody has requested to be notified he will get the email!!! Example suppose you have run out of product A when you have it stock you have to make a product notification letter saying "We proudly announce we have A in stock" you then issue the letter the programs says x number of customers will receive the email you send it and that is how you notify the customers for product A (if they chose to be notified) Am I right?????
diy Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 Just to answer my question (a lot of questions like mine are in the foru unansewered) Notifications are NOT automatic but there are a couple of contributions to make them automatic just serach for notifications in the contribution section or click the link below http://addons.oscommerce.com/category?sear...ions&page=1
