Checkout Procedure

I would like to skip the checkout_confirmation page if the customers chooses paypal as his/her payment option and instead that they'd be directed to the paypal.com login page.

 

If the customer chooses a payment method other than paypal, I would like to direct them to the checkout confirmation (as it is right now).

No. I dont care for paypal express and installing yet more contributions. There must be a simple line somewhere to be able to do what I want to do.

 

I have a template and installing add ons takes more time than stock stores.

Have not tried this, but an idea... Try changing the form on checkout_payment to go straight to checkout_confirmation.php? Possibly? is this going IPN or you have it going out to paypal?

have not looked into IPN yet. Been busy with other contributions...

 

I'm already skipping checkout_payment (included in checkout_shipping)...

 

So it's:

 

1. create account (skips login)

2. checkout shipping & payment combo (skips checkout payment)

3. checkout confirmation

 

I like it this way, but only when customers pay with credit card. The checkout confirmation page lets them review their order total, shipping and billing address, etc and other details that I find important. With paypal, this page is not needed as paypal has one of their own.
