The Order In Which Products Are Displayed

hey guys ill try and be a specific as possible :P

 

i have an online shop with lets say 8 products when i view these 8 products i see

 

1 2

3 4

5 6

7 8

 

what i want to do is be able to sort the order of these products so i see

 

4 6

2 5

1 7

8 3

 

is there any contribution about to do this ?? as i know you can already sort the order of catagories,
