railer
Hi All, A quick question for those more experienced with OSCommerce... My client uses Authorize.net and PayPal for accepting credit card payments. I am wondering if OSCommerce is storing the credit card numbers? I DO NOT see anything credit card related fields in either the Customers or Orders records. Please confirm so that I can feel comfortable making the decision I need to make. Reason I ask, is I am considering moving this client from an expensive dedicated server to a virtual host box with a dedicated IP for a secure cert, but I don't want credit card info stored in a database on a shared box. Mainly, I want to switch because the dedicated box -- at my current host -- is configured such that it A) cannot be upgraded to be PCI compliant without incurring substantial cost, and B) the new, prospective host is really top-notch, keeps all LAMP software up-to-date with the most recent patches, and is quite a bit less expensive. Thanks in advance for your help, Railer

Thanks in advance for your help, Railer I think it's saved in the database. I read some forum-replies regarding this and (if I remember it right) mostly of the credit card information is saved encrypted in the database. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yes they are I know this because I remove the info after a person makes a order just to make it more safe for them so there CC info is not in the DB Hope this helps Ben
