Do I have it in the correct place?
lindsayanng Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 you can put it anywhere that you want, biut you have to tell the website where to go to pull it up so it shows on the screen. change the url link to http://www.masterdatachecks.com/manage/emergencytext.cfm Although, i believe that it would be better to use the tep_href link style when using php. Lindsay---Thanks for the input. I really appreciate how you, germ and the others take the time to help out the new kids like myself. I made the correction and now it just goes to a white screen outside my template. I know I am goofing up somewhere. Plus can you explain the tep_href link so I better understand it. I will put a block of the code it that helps. germ Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 When I click the link it wants me to log in. The file is in a folder protected by .htaccess Either move the file/change the link, or unprotect the folder it's in. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. flyhead Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 Germ--I want to make sure I understand, because when I go the our URL and click on the rush service logo it does not ask me to log on. It just takes me to a white page outside my template with the emergency service info. Hope this makes sense. Thanks
germ Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 If you've already logged in somewhere, you won't have to do so until you close the browser. That's why it doesn't ask you. Since I haven't logged in anywhere, I can't get in. You'll have to do one of the two things I suggested if you want the page available to anyone. ;) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. flyhead Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 Germ Is there are particular place where you reccomend I put the file?
germ Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008  You're the Webmaster! You decide. If there is no good reason to have the folder it's in password protected, just unprotect the folder (rename the .htaccess file to text.htaccess). If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
