Hello the new guy here I am trying to install files in root dir, I thought if I put them in the public_html folder that would be it , apparantly not, I tried looking in forum through search and didn"t find anything, can someone help this struggling new guy?

Your root is the same place where the main code files are for your osC store.

If you go to your /includes folder, then backup one limb on the tree - that's it.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

That means it will fall under the public_html folder, correct?

If your shop was installed into a sub-directory, usually catalog, then that is the root. You can go into admin->Tools->Database Backups and the path to admin will be shown there. The root is one before the admin, probably. It could be that your admin is installed in a different directory than your shop. The simplest thing to do is to just ask your host.
