Adding Checkout Steps

Hello community geniuses, I am currently in development of a store that sells frames and glasses. The bulk of the site is selling the frames (as glasses are generally clear). I am attempting to add a checkout step that would require the customer to add glasses to their order of frames. If in the event that there is no convenient way to perform this task, then I need to know how to make the purchase of frames only possible with glasses (a defaulted checkbox)?
