KarlR Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Hi all, I installed the deb package on my debian remote host, http://<myserver-here>.com/apache2-default/ says "It works!" same for the https. All installed fine but I can't run the osCommerce admin with http://<myserver-here>.com/osCommerce/ nor with iceweasel under freenx on the very server with http://localhost/osCommerce What am I missing? Can someone run me briefly through the config? Best regards, Karl Starting Nmap 4.11 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2008-08-05 12:41 CEST Interesting ports on .... After it is installed, edit /etc/oscommerce/apache.conf to you liking (you could simply uncomment all lines except the first), reload the apache config however you see fit and navigate to your web site's store subdirectory. From there it will ask you the 'run-of-the-mill' oscommerce installation questions. If you had dbconfig-common set up a mysql database/user/password for you, then the pertinent info will be in /etc/oscommerce/debian.php (which you would have to read yourself and input during the installation process). ♥Vger Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'm sorry but we cannot help you here with setting up and configuring your own dedicated server. There are specialist forums for people who are trying to self-administer their own server and you really need their help. Once the server is set up correctly then all you need to do to install osCommerce is to follow the Quick Install Guide pinned to the top of this forum. Vger
