admench Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Hi I have tried to purchase an item on my own store as a test - see www.jollybrown.co.uk/catalog However, I didn't arrive at a paypal screen to finalise payment. I am running oscommerce online merchant v2.2 Trying to integrate paypal website payments standard. Please can someone tell me the optimum settings for this payment method to be functional. Attached is a pic of my current settings. Thanks adam Quote
web-project Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I recommend to install & use the PayPal IPN contribution instead of standard. Quote Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

LunarLive Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Your setup looks exactly like mine with the exception of two things My email address and Debug address use my email to my website and not a freebie web service - it is one of my business email addresses included for my account. the other difference is the Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status is set to Pending E-Mail Address [email protected] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Pending Debug E-Mail Address [email protected] I used a different PayPal account to test my store with my Business PayPal account. I have a Business account and a Personal account through PayPal. One other thought and I don't know if it matters - I'm a U.S.A. PayPal member. Quote

Thanks adam Hi, quick note, the e-mail address should be the e-mail address you used to set up your paypal account with; the same goes for the debug e-mail unless you want to set up a separate e-mail account for error messages. :) p.s. your paypal public certificate should be paypal.com in the usa or paypals home. Crystal1999 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I'm so glad I've found this thread and I hope it's ok to ask a couple of questions of my own. From the pic "rapetet" posted I can see that there is no information on Your Private Key, Your Public Certificate, Your PayPal Public Certificate ID and Working Directory entered. Does this mean I don't have to enter this information (which I have no idea what it is anyway)? And what is OpenSSL Location? Can anyone explain to me what all those terms mean? Oh, and Set Preparing Order Status has options which I really don't understand. To be honest I don't get any of the options in the following setting steps. Can anyone please help a newbie? I really don't want to screw this up. The other points I need help with are: Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Gateway Server Transaction Method Page Style Sort order of display. Enable Encrypted Web Payments I just need to know what the heck I should enter in there. It's all very new and frusttrating to me so I hope you will understand all this blubber. Basically the terminology is completely foreign to me and I have no idea what I've be asked for or required to fill in. Please don't laugh too loud, will Ya? Crystal Quote

BFON Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Although these posting are over two years old, I found them useful as I was trying to configure PayPal Standard v1.0. Was not getting the PayPal payment option to appear on my checkout flow. I read how other users had to reinstall OSCommerce, ouch. Other comments to reinstall the paypal contribution. I finally got it to appear... I had my shopping cart filled with a few items, and the ship to address was set to MA. Meanwhile, I had a Tax Zone of MA setup in order to collect taxes in home state. So for Admin/Locations Taxes/Tax Zones had two entries; one for MA and one for "all zones." This relates back to PayPal Standard configuration where I had the "Payment Zone" set to "all zones." In this scenario no PayPal option appeared. I changed the PayPal Standard Payment Zone to "Massachusetts" and voila, the PayPal appeared. I guess "all zones" does not include any other tax zones? Anyway, quite a revelation, and no where documented, but a simple fix. Now on to seeing if PayPal will actually work correctly... Quote
