guddipy Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Hiya, ive just got a website up as testing it before buying domain etc Now i found this new template and decided i would be using that. Now i managed to install it etc everything working fine. except one problem. The admin section stays constantly logged in, it has no option of loggin in or out. I tried it from somebody elses house and it accesses straight into the admin section without asking for username or password? So i been trying to see whats causing the problem as honestly i am a novice at oscommerce. Checked catalog/admin/includes/configure.php it has all the log on details there but doesnt work?? everytime it just goes straight into admin without password or anything Can any body help please as i have been in and out of tonnes of forums with no luck
spax Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 The template is an older version of osC that doesn't require an administrator login. You need to password protect the admin directory from your host's control panel.

spax Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 When you log in to your hosting account, you should have some type of control panel that gives you options to do things like, set up mail accounts, autoresponders, check logs and stats, create and access databases etc. Within all the functions you have there, there should be one that allows you to password protect folders. If there isn't or you can't find it at least, you can ask your host to do it for you. If they are half decent, they won't have a problem with doing that.
sLaV- Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 ...I tried it from somebody elses house and it accesses straight into the admin section without asking for username or password? ... Looks like your admin section isnt password protected at all ... sounds like ur using MS2 .. I would use THIS contribution which alters the .htaccess file in /admin/ and uses the .htpasswd file to secure your admin section
