Hi,

There is allready image class exist with the same name img_opt. You can remove flash_carousel_image_resize.php file and fix the requirement call from flash_carousel.php in modules directory.

Hi,

Did you read installation step 14. You need to run sql code.

Never heard back. The website does not send the email with the password so I cannot even download the FLA files because i can never get logged in????

I just tested with firefox and it does not showup so I am considering upgrading seeing as how many people use that browser.

The Site can be viewed at www.performanceautopartsonline.com

The site is live (despite these minor glitches) please respect that and do not sign up etc...

maybe a contribution one day when I get this site the way I want it.

I don't make spelling mistakes! I have dyslecsic fingers.

Hi,

You can build a test site.

Download latest osCommerce RC2a and install it.

Then oscommerce Flash Carousel 3.0.1 and copy new_files and modified_files directory to your newly installed store.

Finally run flash_carousel.sql

Thats it. It will work. You can test it.

That's what I did few times! still same ! and why you sad "copy new_files and modified_files directory" AND? why "AND" you shut say "OR" right?!

Still same problem!

Hi, I found another problem it may be the java detection code, but on a windows xp x64 sp2 machine I used, in IE7, but probably due to abobe not supporting flash in xp 64, it causes a crash, but works fine in safari and firefox...

I also found this menu, it looks very cool, but this would look great if you could achieve the same blur effect on the existing mod!

Thanks

Thanks to all of you great osC posters!!

I have 2 quick questions about Carousel...

here is my website for reference http://www.customk9design.com/catalog

1. how do i center the carousel within this table? (dont really know what table it is...) if you notice, it is cutting off on the right a bit...

2. i have it turned off to be in subcategories... but it still shows on secondary pages...(ie, click on any "category" and it will have carousel at the bottom of the page)

how do i turn off carousel so that it only displays on my front page??

i am very good at following directions, but dont know scripting very well, so just please be very specific... ie, "on this page, find 'this', replace with 'this') and i can prob. follow you.

THANK YOU ALL!

Hi all!

I wonder if anyone has faced such a problem: I've installed Flash Carousel v. 2.0d. It works great despite of one moment. On my localhost it is shown on the page after I put the product in the cart and go through all the operations of purchasing. After I accomplish them and see that the purchasing was successful I go to the main page and see that the carousel is working. In the Internet I haven't yet tested it. Can it be because it's on my localhost and it doesn't work perfectly?

Please give me some hints on where the problem can be hidden.

P.S. I've tried to install v.3.1 - the result is that on the OsCommerce script where I didn't do any changes the Carousel works perfect. But on the shop I wanted to install it, the Carousel doesn't work (Though I've tried to install it several times and did it very attentively). Before installing v.3.1 I've deleted the previous version (v.2.0d). I don't know where the problem can be. Besides, I have "Flash Carousel" string in my admin, though all the files with the mysql table of v.3.1 I've deleted. Where can I delete this string?

Will be grateful for your suggestions!

I installed this on my test shop and it works great.

I have installed it on a live shop and the following happens.

1. Firefox 3.0.5 The page loads perfectly and at the bottom of the screen on the left hand corner it says "Read www." then the site name.

2. IE 7 The page loads without showing the carousel and then reloads continuously until IE crashes.

Sometimes after about 12 reloads the page is displayed correctly.

Any ideas?

Hi, I have installed ver3.1 and it works until I use the 'want to resize image' option in the 'configuration' panel. I then get this message. Could someone be kind enough to resolve this for me.

Thanks in advance.

Search is your friend from 2 pages ago

TIP:

When you are running in safe_mode "On"

you'll get some error messages due set_timelimit in the flash_carousel_image_resize.php

in catalog/includes/classes/flash_carousel_image_resize.php

Find:

set_time_limit(120);

And replace with:

//set_time_limit(120);

now it'll work also with safe_mode "on"

Further to to my previous post I have made some progress.

There is a conflict with the cool menu contrib I am using.

If I switch back to the default osc menu then everything works fine.

Is anyone else using cool menu and this contrib?

I installed this on my test shop and it works great.

I have installed it on a live shop and the following happens.

Hi all, this is an awesome contrib. Installed perfectly. I've been looking at the code trying to figure out how to do the following: onmouseover on a carousel image, a popup of the product image (a larger image) occurs. Anyone thought of a way to do this? Thanks.

Search could have been your friend again, also reading the whole thread.

But anyway I remember someone else having this problem and they said it was the product name having non alphabet characters in.

Looking at your xml file, you have 2 products with <em> and </em> in

If you edit the product names and take out the <em> and </em> the I think it should work correctly.

Both the products were tracpacs.

I seem to be having trouble actually displaying the pics in the carousel. I keep having to refresh my home page http://www.ex-military.co.uk they eventually come up but, sometimes it's one, other times it's all six.

Anybody have any ideas as to why?????????????????

Thanks in advance.

This may help you, as it helped me (my original problem was the product images were not linking to the actual product in IE7):

1) go to catalog\includes\configure.php (set write access to 777)

2) Open configure.php and make sure yourwebsite.com is www.yourwebsite.com for HTTP and HTTPS

3) set your configure.php file back to 555

For some reason, the XML that is created in catalog/kampanya/kampanya.xml has a URL reference that IE7 cannot interpret when used with the SWF carousel (actionscript issue in the SWF???). Once you change your configure.php file to have the "www" prefix, the product images should load and link to the product fine. Caveat: one thing I noticed is that after adding new products you may need to close reopen IE7 - a refresh sometimes doesn't work - I haven't completed my research on that.

Cheers...

Hay,

I'm trying to get this to work. Don't have any errors or such, the only thing is that I don't see images in the carousel, I can see it loads the flash part.

The reason it doesnt shows images, is probably because I dont have the admin menu under "catalog" so I cant put any images in.

This is my admin/inlcudes/boxes/catalog.php

 }

 $box = new box;
 echo $box->menuBox($heading, $contents);
?>

	  </tr>
<!-- catalog_eof //-->

As you can see I have put in

tep_admin_files_boxes(FILENAME_FLASH_CAROUSEL, BOX_FLASH_CAROUSEL_PRODUCTS) .

instead of

'<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_FLASH_CAROUSEL, '', 'NONSSL') . '" class="menuBoxContentLink">'.BOX_FLASH_CAROUSEL_PRODUCTS.'</a><br />' .

But the admin menu option under catalog didn't show.

I've tried to put:

'<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_FLASH_CAROUSEL, '', 'NONSSL') . '" class="menuBoxContentLink">'.BOX_FLASH_CAROUSEL_PRODUCTS.'</a><br />' .

instead of:

tep_admin_files_boxes(FILENAME_FLASH_CAROUSEL, BOX_FLASH_CAROUSEL_PRODUCTS) .

That showed the menu option, except when I clicked it, some Acces Denied message showed..

Pls help out!

This will be no use but I've just moved my site from a local test to a live host and get

catalog/includes/classes/flash_carousel_image_resize.php on line 58

on both IE7 and FF3

working on it today - will post if I fix it

Just a quick update - I've made some changers via my host and asked them to turn off safe mode in the php.ini file - not getting the error just a box saying get flash now - must have changed somthing going to reload the backup

I have installed v3.0.1. This is a very nice mod and all works well for me except if I set my configuration style to style_1: medium, I receive the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_split() in /www/mywebpage.com/web/catalog/includes/modules/flash_carousel.php on line 68

However, if I configure to style_2:medium all works great.

This is fine and I can live with this but has anyone seen this before? and maybe has a fix.

Thanks

There's a typo in the \catalog\includes/modules/flash_carousel.php (find replace "lenght" with "length"). Then open the configure.php file in \catalog\kampanya\style_1\medium and update the same way. Hope this helps.
