how to request custom information with product order

Hi!

 

I'm selling cards for different occasions and i require the customer to provide me with the details they want printed on them.

 

I've tried searching through the forums/contributions with no luck.

 

Does anyone have any idea how i can insert fields where the customer types in the required information if they purchase cards from me?

There is already a comments section during the check out process, could you use that instead?

I'm not happy with that cause customers will not type it in and then i have to contact them to get the information.

 

I would prefer a solution where i can prompt the customer for the information either when they add the item to the basket or at checkout.

The solution suggested is "at checkout"

 

You can make an entry in the field manatory.

You can also add fields to the create an account page
