When the store was set up on the home page it stated that the Admin was not secure. I need to know how to make it secure. i have been reading through the forums but I am still lost on this. I am a newb to this whole OSC thing and I am desperately looking for help as the website this is atributed with went live yesterday.

Anyone who is smart enough to figure out that they can put admin in the url could change the paypal account to theirs and the money could go to them. I am semi-panicking over here. :o

Hello

I take it you use version 2.2milestone?

If so all you have to do is log into your WEB site control panel, look for password protect directories, navigate to the admin folder and set a user name and password there

I know I am going to have one of those DOH! moments here but why can I not find this. I log into the admin and then I am lost. I am using version osCommerce 2.2-MS2. I still cannot seem to find where to go to password protect the admin. Thank you so much for helping. So so appreciated.

Go to your cpanel, or whatever you use in your admin backend for your domain (not oscommerce) and use your file manager there to protect your admin folder.

The cpanel is not a part of oscommerce, it is a part of the account that you have with your web host.
