How to change "Language selection Flag Icons" to corresponding words?

Hi all,

 

May I be kindly informed how to change "Language selection Flag Icons" to words? E.g.: How to change the "UK Flag" icon to words "English" ?

simplest approach, find the flag 'gifs' replace them with new gifs with relavent text instead.
