xecutech Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I had 4 orders yesterday and the last order went through our payment gateway and got approval, but osc admin section doesn't show the sale. It does show the customer where they signed up. Is there anything I can check to troubleshoot this issue? We use the qbi script and we cannot download the order, and it is important that this shows in the admin section, of course! Have any of you had this happen before? This is urgent, so if any of you can provide me some feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
web-project Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 our payment gateway and got approval which one, lets guess - PayPal? and you are using PayPal standard contribution? Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
xecutech Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 Nope, we use Skipjack Financial Services. Everything had been working fine until that last order, so i cannot diagnose what the problem could be. This is a new one that I have never encountered! I need help urgently. If it helps, I did add a special on one of our products and then deleted it an hour later, just testing it out. That is the only change that I made to the site in the past few days, but again we had orders before I deleted the special. Could this have anything to do with the problem?
satish Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Chek where the code updates order. if its on success page when a customer returns(similar prob with Paypal was sorted using IPN) then YOu need to make sure that customer reaches back to site after payment. xecutech Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 We have had a few "page not found" errors and I am wondering if when the payment gateway confirmed, they couldn't access the site? I am moving the site to our own dedicated server because of issues we have had with our current host. This may explain why it went through and then it didn't make it back to oscommerce. I am going to try to do my own order to make sure i am not just chasing something that isn't there, especially since I didn't see alot of the same problem in the forums here. I will post back and let you know, so I don't waste anyone's time for nothing.
pixelsix Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Hi, I'm having the same problem as you guys. Using Worldpay, the transaction seems to go through, get authorised, but then on the way back to the shop the transaction is lost. This doesnt happen everytime, just probably once or twice a week. I was thinking it may be, an old bowser used?, connection issue?, loss of session? (someone taking ages to input their card details??) What could be the issue? It's frustrating because I can't replicate the error myself... Is there a way to track each step of a transaction to see where it falls down and the diagnose the problem? Or is there a more reliable way rather than using sessions? Thanks in advance, Ashley

I am sure a more seasoned osc/php guru would know.
pixelsix Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 yeah, maybe... im not sure it is timing out though.... I cant replicate the problem :(
xecutech Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 Ok, thank you for your help, but i think it was a server issue. We have had alot of problems with the reseller account we were using and I moved to a dedicated server yesterday. I put in an order and could not replicate the issue and it worked great. I believe what happened was that after the card was authorized, it got a page not found error when it sent the transaction back to oscommerce. This would explain why we got the authorization, the email from the merchant account on the sale, but it never completed the transaction back in osc. I am hoping this is the case, because I need to move on to other projects. Thank you for your suggestions.
