last url - not working in whos online

Ill try and explain this as best I can.

In admin>tools>who's online

The Last URL only shows as /

It will display if I refresh while the page is loading on the visitors browser.

If I refresh once the page has finished loading it goes back to /

So its working more like a "currently loading URL" rather than "Last URL" if that makes sense

I have tried using the original whosonline.php from 2.2rc1 and the who's online enhancement version 3.4 + 3.52 all have exactly the same problem.

i have tried with force cookie use on/off, prevent spider sessions on/off

Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try? any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

hi

i found this problem to but ive worked out that the / just means then have gone on www.yourdomain.com and can see your home page, but have not clicked on any links or pages on your site

as soon as they click on a link or page it will show on 'whos online'

hope this makes sense and helps?

Thanks for your reply,

yes that does make sense, but it does it even if someone is viewing a product.

Figured it out....

for some reason whos online doesnt display the last URL if STORE_SESSIONS is set to a folder

Mine was set to

define('STORE_SESSIONS', '/www/virtual/bestwebsiteintheworld.co.nz/htdocs/tmp');

I set it back to the default

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql');

can anyone explain the difference between the store sessions in configure.php and admin>config>sessions>sessions directory?
