Forgotten Password, No Password Sent Page?

A confused customer just emailed me because when she requested a new password, instead of a page that says it's been sent to her email, it goes back to the login page.

 

Is there any mod that gives the customer a message after they request a new password saying it's been sent?

Hi, same problem.

 

First time it goes back to customer login page.

2nd time it shows 'email was successfully sent......'

 

But I have checked all mailboxes (inbox, spam, junk....) no email has arrived!

 

Please....tired printing invoices and posting them to customers

On times emails are blocked at the server level if server has some spam filters.

 

So place some file write code in the tep mail code and chek if that file gets details then ask hosting company what measures to be taken so emails are not blocked by filters considering them as spam.

Hi,

 

i have never tried 'forgotten password' option, but it doesn't work. Even personal emails to customer from admin do not reach customers, but 'contact us' form works perfectly. I have contacted server admin and he confirmed that filters are turned off and all email sent from system should reach addressee.

convert2xenon - Check the Service Status page in the Streamline.net control panel as there has been a few issues popping up over the place. In addition to this they are currently decommissioning two old SMTP servers this evening... check your not effected by this! ;)

from streamline.net account control: There are no current service issues :)

 

tried to send password reminder....still no email received :(

 

any help ?

Just tried it on my installation. I am running a Windows server with Streamline.net without SSL as well.

 

Worked fine!

 

If it was me I would check your e-mail options in the admin. Tweek and try! :)

Well, they say:

 

This issue is occurring because there is a missing fifth parameter in your mail script. This has always been a requirement of mail scripts on our shared hosting platform but recent updates to our Linux servers (from PHP4 to PHP5) has meant that this is now always required.

 

example:

mail($to, $sub, $mess, "From: [email protected]", "[email protected]");

 

Now wondering which one parameter is missing and which line in oscommerce has to be edited.
