My client wants to set up a rudimentary way for his customers to pay their bills to his company on his oscommerce site. basically all they would need to do is enter their account number in a form field, then enter CC info along with the amount of their bill they wish to pay. Is there a contribution that will allow me to do this, or do i need to go through external paypal or what? c]Currently we are using authorize.net as the gateway. the client also has a relationship with linkpoint if that would work.

you need to have an actually credit card processing company on the other end.. You say they already have an oscommerce site? Is it up and running?? if so thent hey already have a credit card processing company (a merchant account) if not, then yes, they need ot get one.. Paypal is GREAT for starting up businesses with little overhead. and they DO NOT need to leave your site to pay, the websites payment pro account will be integrated into your actual site.

i THINK that was what you were asking to do

the site is up and running and fully capable of taking CC transactions for products such as calling cards and merchandise. What I need is a way for the customers to CHOOSE the dollar amount they want to pay. this will enable them to pay their monthly phone bills online.

are they paying monthly bills? Is it recurring? what EXACTLY are the customers paying for and how often???

The payments are not automatic and they're not the same amount every month.

Thank you so much for your help. I dont think those contributions are what I'm looking for. here's exactly what I need:

Customer receives bill in mail or email.

Customer logs onto site

Customer enters account number and Dollar amount they wish to pay.

Email is sent to my client with account number and Dollar amount paid.

The site doesnt need to know anything about their account, It's simply receiving a payment. I'm thinking Paypal could handle this pretty easily. Maybe I need to hire a programmer.

thanks again!

Hey,

Did you every come out the solution for this? I have same kind of need with different amounts to be paid by customers. They can enter their own amount. My thought is to have a specific product item. Have this product to be open in price. If you have the solution, can you share with me?

Anyone find a solution or contribution for this? I use to use ECommerce Templates and paid another user to tweak the code for me so this would work.

Its kind of amazing that there aren't a lot of other people looking for a solution like this.

Here's how my business runs and how I need the contribution to work:

I'm a consultant and my clients (mostly SMB) pay me by check or CC usually within 15 to 30 days. It seems I get paid faster if they have an easy quick way to pay by CC.

My current solution using ECommerce is they visit my website, click a "Pay Invoice" button that takes them to a page thats just a product modification, leaving the price filed as a client entry. They enter their invoice total and click pay now. Takes them to the cart where they can choose to pay by CC or PayPal. From there it works just like any other product purchase, carrying the amount they entered through the pages till checkout. The solution sends me an email saying I have a payment and then I can log into my PayPal account and transfer the funds.

I would be willing to pay someone to develop the contrib for this , although I know a lot of people would probably benefit from it.

The reason I'm moving from Ecommerce to OSCommerce is the fact PHP is much safer than ASP code.

We have the same need. We are an accounting firm that invoices clients based on time and materials. Each client is invoiced unique amounts based on T&M required. We were using a hosted order page but have switched to a VirtualMerchant solution and have installed oscommerce as our shopping cart. Our requirements are similar/identical to what was already stated;

- Client enters URL for order page

- Client enters First Name, Last Name, Invoice Number, Payment Amount

- Client completes order using credit card

- Client is emailed receipt, company is emailed receipt with client payment details

That is it, straight-forward. Any other ideas on this?
