gavinjobs Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Hello everyone. I am a newbie. I had some problems with my website after I installed OScommerence. There are some warning messages in the front page. My website is www.memorypal.co.uk The warning messages are : Warning: session_save_path() [function.session-save-path]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 555867 is not allowed to access owned by uid 0 in /customers/memorypal.co.uk/memorypal.co.uk/httpd.www/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 118 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /customers/memorypal.co.uk/memorypal.co.uk/httpd.www/includes/functions/sessions.php:118) in /customers/memorypal.co.uk/memorypal.co.uk/httpd.www/includes/functions/general.php on line 1174 Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /customers/memorypal.co.uk/memorypal.co.uk/httpd.www/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Warning Warning: The sessions directory does not exist: /tmp. Sessions will not work until this directory is created. thanks in advance Gavin
web-project Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 create the tmp directory and point the oscommerce to this directory using the full path to it. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Sessions will not work until this directory is created. thanks in advance Gavin In terms of the includes\configure.php file, the permissions need to be set to 644 so that it is not accessible to the public. Right click on the file while in yout FTP program, and a list should pop up. On that list, there should be an option that reads: CHMOD (the name varies depending on your host). Click on it. input permission 644 into the blank box. You are now secure. The second warning is telling you to create a Directory (i.e. folder) named "Sessions". This folder will likely need to made under the Admin folder, but I am not certain. It's sort of like when I set up (and am still in the process) my store, I got an error urging me to create a "backups" folder. the folder went under the Admin folder.
