If i have a United States Postal Service account and a PayPal biz account can I use United States Postal Service with PayPal Standard in OSC at checkout?

Yes, I do want to use PayPal to print shipping. But does the USPS module calculate shipping based on user input. e.g Media Mail, Priority Mail ect. > then pass a $ figure to the PayPal sale (with PayPal Standard or Pro?)

No, the usps shipping module will calculate the shipping cost based on weight of the product and to the address of the buyer. Your product costs plus shipping cost combined total will be passed to PayPal and the billing price for both will be collected by PayPal.

 

You then log into your PayPal account find the order and choose Shipping Label or something like that. You are then taken to the shipping info page where you Enter package specs the label is printed and PayPal charges you the actual shipping fee. There may be a little difference in the shipping as the actual weight and your stated weight may very...... You need to add some for box and packing material and this may be through trial and error at first. The tare weight in admin can be set to cover some of the difference. Pumping up the actual weight helps. You will find that some shipping costs are not covered and you will find you made money on some shipping costs....

well, http://www.uspsprioritymail.com/et_regcert.html ----redirects to---- http://www.usps.com/webtools/ ----which has a bunch of individual APIs

You need to sign up for an account with usps for this website so it will be a new account have them switch you from testing to production as oscommerce has tested its code.

 

You will use the username that they give you and put it in you admin usps shipping.

OK, so I set up an account as suggested and put my user + pass in the OSC USPS module setup.

 

 

when I go to try at the store it says:

 

United States Postal Service United States Postal Service

An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations.

I did tell them about using OSC. they have now sent this:

 

"Your profile has been updated to allow you access to the Production Server.

2. There is a line of code that refers to "shippingapitest.dll". You'll need to remove the word "test".

quite simple, you log into admin choose under modules and then shipping and then USPS then edit and then tick on production instead of the test that is there.
